Seth Cohen, Chief Executive Officer and Founder
Prior to founding Eleven Canterbury, Seth spent 24 years as a banker and retired from the Group Managing Board of UBS AG in October 2008. Seth founded and led UBS's Group Offshoring. This global business unit built and ran UBS's offshore operations in India and Poland while facilitating offshore outsourcing arrangements with third parties. In addition, Seth held several sales management roles in UBS Investment Bank's Foreign Exchange unit including Head of Sales for the Americas (based in NY), Head of Sales for Asia Pacific (based in Singapore) and Global Head of Bank Marketing (based in London).
Seth has a BA in Economics from Brandeis University. He sits on the Advisory Board of the Ramapo College Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies and the Board of Student Athletes Rising (STARS). Seth currently lives in Upper Saddle River, NJ with his wife, Dorie, their children, and two dogs.
Scott Abbey, Ph.D., Board Member and Senior Advisor
Scott spent 28 years as a senior executive in financial services, mostly in technology, but with a significant stint in operations, prior to retiring in 2009. While at UBS, Scott was a member of the Group Managing Board and Group Chief Technology Officer. His former roles included Chief Information Officer at Paine Webber and Global Head of Operations and Chief Information Officer at Morgan Stanley. Prior to working on Wall Street, Scott spent almost five years in IT for a New York state agency, and, before that, taught Computer Science at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Scott has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stony Brook University. His research and dissertation were in the field of information retrieval and database management systems. He also has an MS in Computer Science and a BS in Mathematics and Psychology. Scott is currently based in Saddle River, New Jersey. When not working, he plays guitar, writes and records music, bikes, skis, hikes, is an avid photographer and enjoys his children and grandchildren.
Chuck Gaspari, Board Member and Senior Advisor
Prior to joining the Eleven Canterbury team, Chuck founded G&G Sports and Entertainment Group, Inc., a firm providing business development and advisory services to sports and entertainment industry professionals. Chuck specializes in business consulting, strategic alliances, marketing/sales/distribution strategies, planning, feasibility, contract negotiations, PR and media relations. In addition to teams/clients in the NBA, NHL, PGA, LPGA and Major League Baseball, he has successfully worked with technology companies, online ventures, biotech firms and private equity capital groups. He has experience in a wide range of financial instruments and has been involved in equity and debt offerings at the public and private level.
Chuck holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and literature from Rutgers University, attended University College, University of London, and earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law. Chuck also served as White House Staff assistant to then Vice President George H.W. Bush. As an Advance Representative, he coordinated logistics, protocol, and security for the Vice President's foreign and domestic events. In addition to being a member of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Chuck is also a licensed investment banker. He currently resides in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Steve Hewitt, Board Member and Senior Advisor
Steve brings nearly 30 years of technology management experience to the Eleven Canterbury team. He has held senior operational management positions within both Alcatel and Lucent Technologies and was an influential contributor to the European expansion of INS and Greenwich Technology Partners consulting firms. Steve has operated as an independent management consultant and has run his own consulting firm, which focused on successful technology adoption within Fortune 500 companies worldwide.
Steve holds numerous industry professional certifications and affiliations, including Project Management and ITIL processes. He is a former naval officer and aviator and a graduate of the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth. Steve and his family currently reside in New Canaan, Connecticut.
Sandy Atwell, Chief Business Development Officer and Senior Advisor
Sandy brings to Eleven Canterbury decades of executive management and international business development experience in the software, technology and services industries. She oversees all sales, services, strategic alliances and works closely with our Senior Advisor community as their executive coach.
Prior to joining Eleven Canterbury, Sandy founded Valkyrie Ventures, a consultancy focused on business development initiatives, embedded due diligence, and team optimization. She was CEO and founder of ACS Group; SVP Astratek/Banker’s Trust; and Global Accounts theater executive for Novell.
Sandy was an angel investor and board member for MangoSoft, Control F1, and Advisory Board Member for BMC Software. She founded the BMC Patrol User group and assisted in the establishment and proliferation of the Network Professional Association.
Sandy is also a co-founder and the current Chairman of the Board of Directors at Life’s Journey Equine Therapy, a ground breaking non-profit services organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for those with special needs through Equine Facilitated activities.
Helene Reda, Chief Operations Administrative Officer
Helene brings numerous years of international operational experience in the financial services industry to Eleven Canterbury. She has had a successful career living and working in New York, Zurich, and London for JPMorgan Chase, ABN Amro and UBS. Helene is responsible for the financial management of our operation, oversees human resources and vendor management, contract administration and works with the creative design team to develop and enhance our digital presence.
Previously Helene was the founder and CEO of the internet retailer Red Raven Boutique. As Director and Global Business Manager with UBS she gained considerable experience with relationship, project & organizational management, Audit / SOX compliance, cost management and control, operational due diligence, and complex creative problem solving.
Helene holds a BA in Political Science from Niagara University and MBA course work in Finance / MIS from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business. She is also Series 10-55 certified for life, health and accident insurance in 14 states and the NYS Partnership for Long Term Care. She volunteers teaching a specialized program, My Money Management, to women residing with the NYS Dept of Correctional Services and is an active member of the leadership team for the local Business Networking International Chapter.
